Educational Background & Specialisation
Dr Jawed completed his basic surgical training in the Northwest and passed his MRCS exams, then pursued Orthopaedic higher surgical training in the Midlands and Southwest Peninsula region, passing the specialty exit exams (FRCS Trauma and Orthopaedics). He holds a Masters degree (MCh) in trauma and orthopaedics from Edinburgh University, where he was awarded the Harold Stiles gold medal, and further trained with a fellowship in hip and knee arthroplasty and revision arthroplasty — including computer-guided joint replacement — at Derriford Hospital, Plymouth.

Dr Jawed's extensive experience spans hospital-based hip and knee surgeries, as well as day-case surgeries of the hand and foot, and he has developed advanced skills in ultrasound-guided joint injections. Alongside his clinical work, he facilitates specialist orthopaedic services in the primary care sector, teaches FY2 doctors and medical students, leads the arthroplasty MDT and clinical governance meetings, and has multiple publications in peer-reviewed journals presented nationally and internationally.
