Overview
About this service
Our GPs assess moles for both medical and cosmetic reasons, looking out for changes such as asymmetry, uneven colour, a diameter over 6mm, bleeding or itching, or a new mole appearing after the age of 30 — all signs that warrant a closer look. Many patients also choose removal simply because a mole is irritated by clothing or jewellery, sits somewhere visible, or affects their confidence. Where appropriate, moles are removed under local anaesthetic in clinic, and any tissue of concern is sent for analysis. Appointments are usually available the same day, avoiding a long wait while you're concerned about a change.
