Overview
About this service
Verrucae are plantar warts that develop on the sole of the foot, and because they're pushed inward by the pressure of walking they're often more painful and stubborn than warts elsewhere on the body. We treat single verrucae as well as mosaic clusters and deeper plantar warts, using cryotherapy, surgical excision or other specialised techniques depending on severity. Treatment usually takes 20–45 minutes under local anaesthetic, with some more persistent cases needing more than one session. Most patients are walking comfortably again within a few days, with guidance on activity and protective padding during healing.
- Treats single, mosaic and deep plantar warts
- Local anaesthetic, 20–45 minute procedure
- Suitable for stubborn cases resistant to home treatment
